... obviously I misunderstood the? word "maverick" Sorry guys .
By: TheGingerZilla. on 11 Jan 12, 15:22:55
definition of maverick 2. One that refuses to abide by the dictates of or resists adherence to a group;? a dissenter. adj. Being independent in thought and action or exhibiting such independence. That sounds like a backhanded compliment. My theory is the Met Office are modern day snake oil salespeople. It's not about the product but getting the money to fund mega computers that are probably a barometer with lots of beeping and flashing lights to make it look good value ;)

the Met are nearly always wrong - warm winters or the best? was not warning anyone as 100mph winds ripped through the country last week. One thing they are good at is telling us how they got it right even when they don't.

- I suspect an anti bad PR? exercise. Figures have always been in public view. If someone wanted to do a study they would have done it already. BBC can pad it out give the excuse well the study is not finished yet ..what's all this we are waiting for permission. BBC could have been highlighting their friends past predictions, but they don't cos the Met Office is too often wrong.

Piers,? where is winter here in the states? Is there any winter in the northern hemisphere? It's dark and cold in the arctic and yet very mild in the Maritimes of Canada and here along the mid Atlantic coast in the US.
