The video completely ignores the shrinking? ozone layer.

I had never seen a video explaining how such a small amount of CO2 could warm the whole atmosphere, so I made one. It's an explanation for school kids, so even if? you don't get science, you should still find it very informative. Google "GW017 Air and CO2"

@237Michael LOL Look who? has a a bigoted closed mind now.

Yay global warming doesn't exist. Now we can stop worrying about pathetic arguments that state we are ruining our planet.. Because we're not. Even if humans wanted to deliberately change the climate I believe we would fail. The Earth's state of equilibrium is far? too stable to be changed by humans. Everytime humans try to fight nature, nature always wins out

The pie? chart concerning carbon is very contradictory. It argues that the carbon increase is insignificant, but then goes on to to say that it has had profound effects on plant life. ....So why can't it have incremental effects on temperature? I would also question the percentage of the greenhouse effect it says is caused by human activity. Did it take into account the past few hundred years of deforestation? Did you know warming and pollutants effect cloud cover?

The videos low point is when it quotes various news articles from winter in the northern hemisphere in 2008. This is a very specific time and place and means nothing in the long term global trend. The bias is shown when the video neglects to mention the record highs that have been? broken and rebroken recently. It then reaches a "verdict" saying we don't need to worry. It is also a failing of logic to say "everything is alright because the increasing extremes haven't killed us yet."

The videos information on polar ice is about seasonal ice. It does not talk about the ancient ice, which is what? climate scientists talk about, not this. Ice which has been permanent for hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of years is now melting.

Chart 4 says the? correlation is unmistakable, and yet it states the solar output is falling while the temperature data it is correlating to is climbing.... this suggests there are unknown factors at work, and you can't draw any conclusion from it. Chart 5 shows a drop in global temperature between 2007 and 2008. Year to year fluctuations are just microscopic bumps on a larger trend (the first chart), so are fairly meaningless.

Chart 2-3 are used to say "an increase of 0.5 isn't much". This is significant to many biological forms which could have ramifications throughout the ecosystem. This may also? be a sign of more significant increases to come. Comparing it to day/night and seasons is not logical because the ecosystem is balanced by and has evolved with those. The concern is with LONG TERM AVERAGES. Seasons do not even affect many things because much of nature is seasonal.

Chart 1: While the current temperature is around the average for 3,000 years (some measurements actually put it higher than the medieval? period, check Wikipedia), rather than saying "this is normal", we must understand if the current increase is natural or not. If it's caused by human activity then it wont naturally stop, meaning we should pre-empt action rather than waiting for problems.

@Ender1337otron This video is one big lie. The accompanying video entitled "global warming references" has no legitimate references at all but relies largely on the long-ago-debunked Petition Project of the crazy? Robinson family (no doubt one of the funders of this video). If you want to really research climate science, subscribe to Nature. If you want to see the many false pseudo-science claims of the fossil fuel industry DEBUNKED check out youtube user Greenman3610.

Bye, bye CassiopeiaProject. I am unsubscribing to it.?
By: Ender1337otron. on 14 Nov 11, 15:12:14
@wdgeo What exactly wasn't true about the facts presented in this clip? ? Also, how can you say it had no basis in science whatsoever? Just what part wasn't based in science?
By: Ender1337otron. on 14 Nov 11, 15:09:52
@237Michael Maybe because you have preconceived notions? and reject objective analysis?

CO2 is a linear? molecule, not v-shaped
By: 237Michael. on 19 Oct 11, 06:22:31
It's amazing how the Cassiopeia project,? which I liked so much, could produce such a crappy piece of pseudoscience. What is going on here?
By: wdgeo. on 10 Oct 11, 17:16:13
Still pedaling this Denialista claptrap I see. ATTENTION VIEWERS: This video is POLITICAL in nature and has no basis in science whatsoever. Thank? you. For TRUE information about AGW please see the scientific journal Nature or check out greenman3610's channel: youtube. com/ user/ greenman3610

@cassiopeiaproject NO FACTS is what you have here.?
By: wdgeo. on 10 Oct 11, 17:06:18
@MrMarkLegion No, they wanted Cassiopeia to? come clean about its pro-fossil fuel agenda and right-wing political connections -- which it has not done.

117 ppl dislike this? did they want there to be global warming?? lol

@jhonnygilbert We have an audio? technician on staff who creates our audio tracks. His primary source for the music is from a subscription we have with FirstCom. We do not maintain a music list for each video and we do not maintain a separate music file for each video.
