@wonderingmind42 That is the problem, no one wants to spend money on a debate book. Or a normal book...

@vampirateprincess Glad you got a laugh out if :) I think it can be "profitable" , but we have to redefine what we mean by profitable. If we mean profitable in terms of companies shareholder money blah, then it probably wont be for those outside of renewable energy. But as a source of happiness and satisfaction, and community capital, then fighting for the earth is very profitable. However I think theres a lot of jobs/wealth to be created in rebuilding dirty parts of the economy.

@MrShayneOneill Aaaaahahahaha. This comment made me laugh :) I am in favor of PEOPLE making the change happen, because depending on our government would be foolish due to the fact the US government is "of the people, BY the people" to begin with... or at least is supposed to be. However, I dissagree with the capitalistic approach, because fighting global warming is NOT going to be financially profitable. In fact, most companies now claiming to "Be green", just slapped on a sticker.

@EnergeticRob976 Yeah, I thought the book was bound to be interesting too. While I was writing it, I thought "My god, some of this stuff is incredible! No one has done this before! I'm bound for the NYT bestseller list!" Buuuuuut, judging from the sales, it wasn't that interesting. Oh well. At least I can look at my little girls when they grow up and say "I am so sorry, sweethearts, but I did all I could." You might still enjoy the book. Some people did.

@getdjman Yes, as we learned with BP, clearly letting companies regulate their own shit is a great idea. After all, all those pelicans where actually HAPPY about the oil. Now they can drive cars!

@bboydee you do realize that he had to chip in for publishing the book as well as the tremendous amount of paper needed, you have to spend money anyway to make money so he's just doing anything anyone would do to promote their product or whatever.

Most people agree with the fact that action should be taken to provide a pristine environment to generations yet to come. However, I believe in PEOPLE and capitalistic approaches which encourage competition and rewards innovation to ensure the pursuit of better technology. Government regulation does not has not ever worked. America has over 1,100 years of natural gas that we are not allowed to use because of impertinent government regulation. Let the PEOPLE take care of their environment.

@SheCallsMePanda "Only a handful of scientists endorse global warming" LOL! Nobody "endorses" global warming, silly.

Hi Greg, Congratulations on getting published. That, alone, is a major accomplishment. Well done. But I should say up front I that I believe global warming -- uh, I mean "climate change" -- is a thoroughly dubious proposition devised to empower leftists and disempower people. In this video, you praise "the power of the people", but in your pink slip video, you complain how selfish individuals spend money that would be more wisely spent by the government. It's a contradiction. Thanks.

@usabispingfan I think you miss his point. which is, even if we're wrong, there are benefits to being conservative in regards to safe-guarding the environment. His argument is pretty narrow, and focused, and yet you pick it apart on the very points that make the argument solid. Not to mention his first question: is it possible that you're wrong?
By: usabispingfan. on 15 Jun 10, 21:29:32
@GraemeStone falsifying information is how global climate change has been "proven".. the argument is indeed good, but it doesn't take into account that GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE IS NOT OCCURING
By: GraemeStone. on 15 Jun 10, 09:37:36
This is the best-articulated argument I've ever seen. Debate and inaction are killing an opportunity to make the world better.
By: SheCallsMePanda. on 03 Jun 10, 06:14:30
Climategate.....only a handful of scientists endorse global warming. These handful get tons of "grant" money (a.k.a. bribes). Look it up and do the research.
By: bboydee. on 02 Jun 10, 08:04:20
it always ends in profit... why?? i refuse to believe greed is a "natural" thing. Am I the only one that does not think for profit???? if you really wanted to spread the word you would have put it up for free.

REGARDLESS of whether the planet is hitting global climate change or not, what's the worst that can happen? We stop using up all of the fossil fuels, we find of more energy, cost efficient methods to live our lives comfortably. Hey. no one said you need to wear burlap underpants and live in trees.
