Weather Stations: The Unappreciated Saviors
Mother Nature has often used the weather as a dangerous and unpredictable weapon against those who don't understand it. Even though our technology is some of the best and most up to date, there are still a lot of facets in regards to the weather that we don't understand. For instance, take a look at tornados. They are the most destructive forces out there and they have taken the lives of millions.
Tornadoes are some of the most difficult weather patterns to understand and scientists have worked for years trying to find out how and why they work the way that they do. Even now the maximum warning time for a tornado is no more than a handful of minutes, barely enough time to get up and leave if that's what you were inclined to do.
It may not seem like much but not even ten years ago the warning time was even less than that. Knowledge in this case, is most definitely power since the more information we can gather on storms the more lives we can save. We can curse it, fight against it, use it to our advantage, and, depending on its mood, we can enjoy it for all it's worth but whatever our take on weather, we all understand that the best way to survive it from day to day is to be prepared for it.
Rain, sleet, snow, flooding, tornados, hurricanes, and any number of other occurrences could ruin your day if not your life. So we all understand on an instinctual level how much prior knowledge is appreciated, even if the daily report on the news or on the radio is often taken for granted. Storm chasers risk life and limb to follow behind the most devastating storms sweeping across the country. Scientists and researchers spend hours pouring over charts depicting information received from satellites and weather balloons.
All of this just to compile data that is then given to us in a 30 second spiel on the morning and evening news. That weather predictions are difficult is obvious. Especially since constant scrutiny of the earth and the patterns of wind and rain is required in order to get an accurate reading. Now though, getting that valuable information has become just a bit easier thanks to the newest technology from our weather posts. Portable weather stations are turning into precious commodities.
They can be used anywhere that you need them and the great thing about having one is that not only are they affordable, but you now have warning the very second that the weather patterns begin to shift out of your favor. You can have the weather stations for home, school, work, etc.

There is little to no delay between when the weather happens and when you become aware of it, extending your time for preparation tenfold. You'll never be caught out in a rain or ice storm again.
