Why Wind Energy Outshines other Alternative Fuels

By Dale Green

When it comes to energy, the wind has the advantage for having the abundance of it. Similar to other energy, wind is renewable, but different from the fossil fuels, wind will continue to be present without the threat of disappearing.

We are all familiar with how this generation became affected because of the gas shortages and the rising of the prices of fuel. Using wind power, this crisis should never be repeated and even with economic crisis that is shaking the world today, the fuel prices will not be as high despite growing competitions. Now that wind power can be generated for the needed fuels, the crisis will be controlled.

Competition against the fossil fuel generation is already taking place and many wind energy bids are being won, able to prove that increased fuel costs just are not in their future equation. Once the initial equipment is in place, the costs remain steady. What a great feeling.

With wind energy, we can finally begin breathing easier, both from an economical and environmental point of view. This renewable form of energy does not contribute to smog, mercury contamination or particulate-related health issues. Asthma and respiratory problems may well be on the decrease when the particles in our air begin to diminish, leaving our atmosphere as it was 100 years ago.

A variety of applications available through wind power continue to grow. Powering homes, businesses and farms, wind can also provide energy to remote areas, pump water and power telecommunication sites. In just a few years, there will be no excuse for anyone in the world to be without needed power.

Unlike the conventional plants that use large amount of water to cool plants when generating their power from fossil and nuclear fuels, the wind turbine never needed fresh water in its operations. All this water can be used by people for better purposes.

Now that wind power is being operated in the rural areas, the urban areas are also benefitting from this because some utility grids are now operating in many regions, giving the urban areas their supply of energy at affordable prices. None of them were harmed by the rotating turbines.

More than anything else, people accept the wind power from the turbines not only because the energy is environmental and not harmful to them, but also because this operation is far less expensive than their present utility connections. Simple life, cost effective fuels, and well-defined living are what most people can get from wind generation. Using the ever present wind energy to provide all these should be the priority in technology development today. This will be for the coming generations and for a cleaner and safer environment for all of us.
