@reapfreak Ironically, when deniers cite past climate change, they're in fact invoking evidence for strong climate sensitivity and net positive feedback. Higher climate sensitivity means a larger climate response to CO2 forcing. Past climate change actually provides evidence that humans can affect climate now.

@Nightversionn While I agree that AGW is the most likely explanation of recent rapid warming, a larger population leads to more emissions, yes or no? A study by statisticians at Oregon State University concluded that in the United States, the carbon legacy and greenhouse gas impact of an extra child is almost 20 times more important than things like driving a high mileage car, recycling, or using energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs.

Still, population control will be achieved when another virus "of unkown origin" runs through the planet. Can you imagine USA and Europe allowing millions to come from the southern hemisphere to escape flooding...............dream on. When the cold Arctic air pushes the jet streams south into the Midwest, the cold air mixing with the warm, wet air causes much rain on the plain. If the Arctic was warming instead of cooling, the jetstream would be much further north and the Canadian prairies wouldn't be underwater. A few years ago global warming was PREDICTED to turn southern Alberta into a desert but now global warming is PRESUMED to be the cause of global raining. So warming causes drought and torrential rains. Makes sense.

Nighty, I'm a skeptic and this is great news. Let's hope Quebec gets right at deriving gas from shale. Thanks again for the new addition to my list of euphemisms for GUESS, potentially, POTENTIALLY, that's a gem. The environmental risks are PROJECTED to be non-existant. Definitely a win-win situation. Could you supply the name of the companies involved? I'd like to invest some money with them. Obama is pissing off the South Americans so this is going to be a money pit when the embargo starts.
