AGW...? All Government World? Lol well I dont really know what all that shit about oil and asteroids has to do with anything but the fact is that a world government is a? terrible idea. Unless of course you enjoy being stripped of your freedom.
By: Antithropocentric. on 24 Mar 12, 22:29:08
AGW is just a matter of PHYSICS. Stop politicizing it. You'd probably have no quarrel with science if it told you a future asteroid strike had a high probability of messing up society, and taxes would be needed to pay for a device to knock it away from Earth. Why? Because asteroids can't be blamed on oil-gluttons. But AGW is no less of a worry, evidence-wise. Get past your tax-obsession and realize that nature? doesn't care about your "rights" at all. It just responds to physical phenomena.

From 1859 (Tyndall), then 1896 (Arrhenius), to the 1930s (Callendar), 1950s (Revelle), then the 1960s and onward (Keeling, Hansen, etc.) this issue was purely about PHYSICS and heat retention. There were no half-wit armchair analysts muddying the debate. THEN, in the 1990s, the conspiracy nuts and right-wingers politicized it for selfish reasons and the science got drowned out by uneducated yelling. Thanks for? helping to improve the future of the world, you dumb punks.

I dont care if the Earth is made of salad, 100 years from now we will still be too culturally diverse to be under a world government. It never work and it never should work. One government with the entire planet under its thumb is? a terrible idea. I dont care if
By: Celtic505. on 29 Feb 12, 12:14:05
Again Ive said its an unrealistic idea for now at least. Maybe in a few 100 yrs if humans still exist? technology has integrated all cultures 2gether into 1 giant global melting pot it may work. My teacher used to say the US wasnt a melting pot but the more accurate analogy wud be a salad, the pot turns everything in2 1 substance whereas the salad each item keeps its identity but is influenced by the others when you pull away the items become 1 meal alone
By: XxToHellAndBackxX. on 28 Feb 12, 23:19:59
But we are all bound under the same constitution and have the same form of government. You cannot write a constitution that will? work for 6.5 billion people.
By: Celtic505. on 24 Feb 12, 18:19:05
I dont expect it to be ideal. Nor expect it to ever happen or be successful. I just think its a good dream to have. But most of the time dreams are just that..dreams, not reality.? I guess my hope is that our species evolves, grows up learns from over 5,000 years of war, prejudice, murder, indifference, pollution etc. instead of each generation sayin fuck it findin it out for themselves. Is it realistic? No, but dreams rarely are. But that doesnt mean we give up on them.

- So each country would have its own leaders like how states have govenors but also Senators mayors. Then we would also have a world government which would be the major power like DC is? in the US. It would have representatives from every country we would vote on things. That way wed all be under one flag so that we could all take care of everything everywhere. Nobody could say not to help other parts of the world b/c they would be our countrymen our responsibility.
By: Celtic505. on 24 Feb 12, 17:58:32
- I do not propose we have exactly the same laws all over? the globe. Take the US for example. Yes we have national, federal laws BUT we also have state laws they vary state to state. Whats legal in Maine may not be legal in Ohio or New York may have the death penalty whereas Utah may not. Id say we should have some VERY basic world laws like no murder, rape, etc. but each country would be its own state thus have their own laws unique for their culture.
By: XxToHellAndBackxX. on 24 Feb 12, 14:54:34
It will never work though. There is no right way to do it. There are vast cultural? differences between Americans and Canadians, and we live very close together on the globe. Now put that on the global scale, people in Korea following the same laws as people in Mexico. That would be nuts. No one would be happy, there would constantly be riots.

-Though surely corruption or another problem would creep in just as with all other systems so far. I also? wonder if w/ our modern technology we could have a direct democracy like Ancient Athens by which instead of having politicians represent us, we would all rule together, all legal citizens. We'd utilize technology so that everyone could vote on decisions, like texting votes on American Idol. It sounds really dumb but we'd have more say than having politicians vote for us

-There has got to be a way to find candidates or some kind of requirements to ensure that candidates or? leaders are only selected from honest men women with nothing but the most pure intentions. Rare people who will never pass legislation to make money or as a favor to friends/companies. I have often thought of what a world would be like if intellectuals governed instead. Our scientists, philosophers, etc would govern based on logic and pure pursuit of reason....
By: Celtic505. on 23 Feb 12, 18:06:17
- I mean, there has to be some way out there for us to think up for humans to govern themselves properly, fairly and above all without corruption or injustice. Our American checks balances with branches of govt is a great idea and good start but ppl always find ways around it. And thus begs the question from ages past "who watches the watchers?". But I still think? there can be a way to have an uncorruptible govt we just havnt found it yet.
By: Celtic505. on 23 Feb 12, 18:02:17
-Thank You, now that is a proper response to a comment. I appreciate you being calm, honest trying to get? me to understand your opinion. Anyways, I get what you are saying that helps me understand why ppl would be against the idea. I agree w/ some of your points but the main goal would be to try and find a way to do it w/out corruption. Almost an impossible goal I know, but a world gov't should never be enacted unless we can find a right way to do it.

Because it takes all the power away from the people and makes us all pawns. It isnt about being "one species", its about power and money. We are all to culturally diverse? to be controlled by one government. The world is too big a place to be under one banner

of course.. YOU don't see a problem with world government because you are a liberal drone otherwise known as a utopian. Read the book Ameritopia and learn the roots of your illogical and irrational thinking. ?
By: KtoLV. on 05 Jan 12, 12:47:50
@Celtic. It would not be so horrific if it were a government with the interests of the citizens in mind. It will not be. This world government will be one of tyranny and oppression. ?
By: Celtic505. on 14 Dec 11, 12:09:12
I am sorry but I do not see what is so? horrific about a world government. I truly believe that is the logical step for humanity to take. We are ONE species, on ONE planet. We need to stop dividing ourselves and fighting eachother over BS. I don't know how practical it would be but I hope humanity could grow up, evolve and mature enough to let a united government of earth. It could be like the US but instead of states we'd have countries. Why is that bad? It would be akin to the UNSC from Halo

By: Jacoby515. on 23 Nov 11, 06:18:14
At the very end it says how they changed the data to created more panic of "global warming" so the money comes flowing in. Noticed how i said global warming instead of climate change because the people who still believe in it? like to rephrase themselves
